You too can profit from the premium quality of Indian incense.
What is Indian Incense?
Indian incense is the incense tree Boswellia serrata. Its ingredients are used for therapeutic purposes.
Indian frankincense (Boswellia serrata) is one of the 16 subspecies of the Boswellia genus incense tree found worldwide. From its shrub (Boswelliga serrata) a resin can be obtained, which is known as incense or olibanum. It is used in phytotherapy, folk medicine and as a dietary supplement.
Occurance
The different Boswellia species can be found in very different regions of the world. The area of distribution of incense stretches from West African countries such as Nigeria, Togo and Ghana to Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia, Saudi Arabia and India. The Indian subcontinent is the home of Indian incense. Cultivating the incense tree is not easy because it only grows in deserts and mountains. It therefore has highly demanding growing conditions.
